Concrete Patios: The Smart Outdoor Investment

Concrete is the most versatile and durable outdoor slab material available. Unlike pavers that shift, settle, and grow weeds, or wood decks that rot and require refinishing, a properly installed concrete patio will look great and perform well for decades with almost no maintenance.

We install patios for all types of outdoor spaces — from a simple 12x12 seating area to a complex multi-level entertainment space with integrated fire pit surrounds, outdoor kitchen slabs, and covered porch extensions.

Popular Patio Applications

Covered Porches

Front and back porch slabs that are level, properly pitched, and cleanly finished.

Fire Pit Areas

Heat-tolerant concrete pads and surrounds for safe, stylish fire features.

Hot Tub Pads

Reinforced concrete pads engineered to handle the weight of filled hot tubs.

Finish Options for Your Patio

  • Broom finish — classic, non-slip texture ideal for most outdoor use
  • Stamped concrete — stone, slate, tile, or brick patterns in any color
  • Exposed aggregate — natural pebble finish for a textured, attractive look
  • Smooth trowel — sleek surface, great for under covered areas
  • Colored concrete — integral color pigment for a custom aesthetic
  • Salt finish — subtle pitted texture with great slip resistance

Drainage & Grading

A common issue with contractor-installed patios is poor drainage — water pooling on the surface or draining toward the foundation. We always grade patio slabs with a slight pitch away from structures to ensure proper water management. We also plan for downspout routing and any necessary drainage features during the design phase, not as an afterthought.

Frequently Asked Questions

Standard patios are typically 4 inches thick. Areas that will support vehicles, hot tubs, or heavy structures should be 5–6 inches with appropriate reinforcement. We advise on the right specification during the estimate.
Sometimes — it depends on the condition and elevation of the existing slab. In many cases it is better to remove the old concrete and start fresh to ensure proper drainage and base compaction. We evaluate this during your free estimate.
Light foot traffic is typically fine after 24–48 hours. We recommend waiting 7 days before placing heavy furniture, and 28 days for full strength. We will give you specific guidance at the time of your project.
